What is Cloud Computing?
Put simply, cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. These can include all aspects of an IT infrastructure such as, networks, servers, storage, applications, and services.
The main advantage of cloud computing is that it provides rapid flexibility to organisations. If new or enhanced services are required, then the appropriate resources can be „switched on‟ to deliver these services more quickly than would be possible under traditional delivery models. Should services no longer be required or need to be scaled back, the flexibility of the cloud model also facilitates that with minimal management effort.
Cloud Computing has permitted the IT industry to offer various new services to customers. The foundation of these is what is known as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). IaaS provides all the elements that make up an entire IT infrastructure in a hosted environment ready for customers to access. They may use IaaS to replace their internal IT infrastructure, or only use specific parts of it.
The HiberniaEvros IaaS Cloud provides a cost effective and flexible way for our clients to deliver fast and effective Business Solutions to their users based on industry leading technologies and architected to the highest technical standards.
